Indianapolis IN, Introduction to MLT

  • The Natatorium 901 West New York Street Indianapolis, IN, 46202 United States (map)

Give your therapy style a boost in efficacy and efficiency with Manual Ligament Therapy. This 4-hour introductory class is a glimpse into the world where ligaments dictate muscle function. Proprioceptors within the ligaments play a dominant role in the resting tone and active function of muscles and fascia making it possible to manipulate myofascial function, via the ligaments. MLT uses specific joint positioning, light pressure on the ligament, and gentle muscular contraction to effectively release the tension and improve the function of nearly any muscle in the body in a matter of seconds. MLT will be one of the most gentle, effective, and fast acting manual techniques you have ever learned.

From this introduction, students will gain a basic understanding of the physiology behind this technique and leave with a good understanding of the integral role ligaments play in muscle and fascial dysfunction. Students will also learn to palpate the target ligaments needed for the application of MLT and, select protocols from the full course. These protocols will include, Pectoralis major and minor, Psoas, Iliacus, Femoral Adductors, Iliotibial band, and several other key tissues.
